Age buckets, not guesses

Verdicts are tuned to 0–3 months, 3–6 months, or 6–12 months. A product fine for a 9-month-old can be unsafe at 4 months — EggYolk knows the difference.

We flag the actual under-12-month risks: honey (botulism), added salt (kidneys), added sugar, allergens introduced too early, and ultra-processed first foods.

Common questions

Will it work on the brands I actually buy?: EggYolk uses Open Food Facts data — a database of millions of products including HiPP, Ella's Kitchen, Plum Organics, Beech-Nut, Holle, Earth's Best, and most supermarket store brands. If a product isn't there, you can submit it.
What about formula?: Yes. Formula gets stage-specific verdicts based on your baby's age and the formula's stage labeling.
Does it work on store-brand baby food?: Most of the time, yes. Major UK and US supermarket brands are well-covered. Smaller regional brands sometimes aren't — you can submit those to grow the database.
Why is it free?: Because shipping a paywalled baby food scanner felt wrong. EggYolk has no ads, no tracking, and no in-app purchases. We built it because we wanted it to exist.
